HELLO BAND!!firstly, i've to apologise for not updating that regularly cause i'm too busy =D Hope you guys dont mind and hope that the blog didnt turned rusty. KEEP THE BLOG ALIVE!!!!! secondly, i want to talk about attendance problem. the attendance was somehow not showing any improvement, especially saxophone and persussion section! what's the use of us organizing saturday practices when the attendance is so poor? saturday practices are implement to help the band, not to waste your time and SYF is around the corner, somewhere in APRIL. what's the date now?? How many practice do we really left??? go and count ... its going to march soon, if you guys continued to give us attendance problem you are holding the band back. The band wont be able to reach the school's target and we wont be able to fight for what we want, our own band room. its time for you guys to buck up its not the time for you guys to slack around is time for us to learn. And it was clearly states that members with less than 75% attendance will warrant poor conduct. well, a poor conduct might not do any harm to you but you will not be eligible for any awards no matter how well you do in you acadamic so why just give up the opportunity?? PLEASE COOPERATE WITH US.. if possible get your friends back to practice, work together as a band co-operate with the conductor and get things nicely done if you have tuition on Saturday, can you please kindly approach your teacher and tell them your situation and see if it is possible to change the time slot for the time being cause the following practices will be very very important. DONT MISS IT IF POSSIBLE!!! i understand that some of you might be complaining tired and stress but think again who's not tired? who's not stress at this point of time? =) nothing in this life somes without a cost, and the cost of success is PERSEVERANCE. in the days ahead, work hard, work smart and persevere till out goal is achieve. it's only 1 more month!!! hang on with it!!! i know that we, UNITY SYMPHONIC BAND, can make it!!! and WE WILL ACHIEVE WHAT WE WANT, right? i'm also proud to say that our band is improving, compared to begining of the year however there are still room for improvement!!! =) flute section - must know your parts well enough and DARE to play out!!! or else we cant solve much of the problems!! clarinet section - continue to work hard, learn the running notes parts if not it will sound very messy!!! saxophone section - alto got many things to settle inculding attendance!!! tenor is improving!! baritone (?) MUST WORK HARD!!!! k?? dont ever think of give up!! french horn section - lots of parts to settle!! must also play out, k? so go trian on your volume and tone colour!! must know your individuial parts too!! euphonium section - practice on your SOLOs!!! you guys can do it!! must play out too!!! trumpet section - must play out and face your bells UP!! must go and practice your own parts if not the whole section in unbalance!! trombone section - not much of a problem but there're still room for improvement. continue to JIAYOU!! tuba section - also not much of the problem, still can be improve, right?? keep it up! no matter what, you guys must have confidence in yourself!!! that's one of the important thing! Last Wednesday, 21st February, we went to the SCH fo a short rehearsal hope that you gus can remember how soft and how loud to play for the songs and please remember where is your seat!! dont ever forget... and i believe that most of you guys had actually saw ms tan right?? some of us had a short chat with her and comments we got from her was not bad BUT there are still many areas where we can improve!!! ( as what i had stated earlier ) Ms tan also hopes that the band can do their best and get good results for SYF so that we wont let Mr Wong and her down! so we must prove to both ms tan and mr wong that the efforts and hard work that they put in on us will not be wasted!!!! Lastly, please take good care of yourselves and dont get yourself sick!!! dont ever let anything happen t you at this point of time! DRINK lots of water!! go and take Vitamins C to have a strong immune system and take Vitamins B so as to keep you attentive during lessons and will be more active and awake!! or you guys prefer Red Bull?? the band is a one big family for no man is an island everyone in the band is IMPORTANT, and the band will not be complete with one missing member!!! =D " GOOD, BETTER, BEST strive on until the Good id Better and the Better is the BEST!! " " always aim for the sky for if you fail, you can still reach the cloud! " `jieying ONE BAND, ONE SOUND!!! |
